AEB: Russian car, LCV sales fall 5.2% to 152,057 units in Oct
MOSCOW, Nov 7 (PRIME) -- Russia’s sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles (LCVs) fell 5.2% on the year to 152,057 vehicles in October, the Association of European Businesses (AEB) said on Thursday.
In January–October, sales of cars and LCVs fell 2.4% to 1.423 million units.
“Total market sales in October underachieved last year’s result by 5.2%, firmly keeping the market on the path of a slow but continuous erosion of the much-needed volume gains secured in the years 2017–2018. This is not the direction the industry wants or needs, of course, but it is hard to see at the moment where a change to the better should be coming from any time soon,” AEB said quoting Joerg Schreiber, chairman of the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee.
Sales of Russia’s largest carmaker AvtoVAZ fell 6% on the year to 30,237 cars in October and rose 1% to 295,437 units in January–October.
